|04:18 pm - Bronze PMC|
I had glanced at the new bronze PMC when it first came out, learned that it requires a firing box filled with charcoal (or something) for firing, and lost interest.
However, my interest has been re-piqued! I was reading the new Rio Grande catalog, as one does, and saw that this stuff is traditional bronze! meaning, not a richer, lower brass made of copper and zinc, like most modern bronzes are, but actually copper-tin. Woohoo! I definitely like the sound of that.
Also, to go with it Rio is now carrying copper-tin bronze wire in several gauges. Woohoo again! I'm definitely going to get some of the wire in my next order from them, and will have to think hard about the PMC as well. Even though I don't think well in clay.
