|04:09 pm - Help! Question about ring sizes|
I have a commission to make an engagement ring. Thing is- the man wants it to be a surprise for his intended, so checking her ring size directly is not an option he favors.
He does have a ring of hers that she wears on her index finger, and it's size 5.5 (US). He's wondering if we can from this deduce what the ring finger size is.
Now, my own fingers are big (hers are small), so my index finger is a couple of sizes larger than my ring finger. I'm expecting this is not typical, though.
I would particularly like to hear the comparative rings sizes of your index and ring fingers if you have small hands- say, ring sizes under 6 or 7.
Please help! And thanks in advance.
What size is your left ring finger?
What size is your left index finger?
The difference between them (index minus ring) is:
The ticky has no fingers, and so stayed out of this poll.
I filled out the poll, but I have to say, if there's any kind of continuous pattern on the band, this would make me nervous ... can he try the old "string around her finger as she sleeps" trick? Or maybe ask a friend of hers to employ guile in the course of shopping with her to try on rings, or something?
No pattern. This is one of my Mobius rings.
I may send him a set of ring sizers to try while she sleeps...
I am not answering your poll because...well, because. So, there. My high school class ring, which I wore on my right ring finger was a size 5. My left ring finger is now approximately a 5 (it was a 3-ish the first time I got engaged), with my forefinger being approximately a 6.5 or maybe 7. (Alas, I have no ring-sizing stuff about to check for accuracy.)
My fingers are big. My index is larger.
