Also: I can has petrified squid!

They are fascinating, and I am dying to get started playing with them. I think they are going to look amazing when polished and/or sliced- translucent grays, it looks like now, with lots of texture.

I'm booked up enough with commissions now, though, that it looks like it'll be a while before I can start messing with them. Maybe this fall? We also need to get our mini-slab-saw up and running in order to slice them (the polishing system is set up and functional now).

They don't look like much at the moment- totally unpolished, though I scrubbed them off- they'd been rinsed but not scrubbed. I'm thinking of taking a big broken one she was nice enough to give me for practice and polishing it along the breaks, just to get more of an idea how they'll look when/if sliced and polished.

Dunno what to do about the wee ones- th4 shapes are great,a nd I'm afraid tumble-polishing would wear off their cute little points at the top- but polishing them like cabs will be a hassle, though I guess I've decided to do that. :) And maybe guve them tentacles again!
